I used a grocery store bouquet for this colorful design. Add floral food to the water and tape a grid across the top with floral tape. Separate your bouquet into layers (if you've forgotten what they are, go to Beginner's Guide ). Start with your line foliage, then add your round foliage. Remember to point stems toward the imaginary X in the center.

There weren't any line flowers in this bouquet, so I started with the red and yellow carnations. Next I added the fuschia daisy mums, then the yellow. I separated most of them from their main stem, creating more flowers to work with. Keep turning your container and filling in gaps. Notice how some stems are cut shorter and placed toward the base of the arrangement. The orange and yellow gerbera daisies star as our focal flowers. Finally, I tucked in purple statice and kermit green pom pom mums throughout. Put this on your dinner table tonight and amaze your family with your new skill! Or deliver it to a friend and watch them smile. Guys, why not surprise that special someone with something other than a bouquet in a cellophane wrapper? It doesn't take that long and it's fun to do!
