My local craft store had a sale on these classy little "treasure chests". Inside I used a rectangular, plastic food storage container to hold my floral foam. The magnolia leaves were inserted first, then a few stems of ruscus and huckleberry. You can substitute your greens, but just make sure they are bold enough to compliment the artichoke; leather leaf fern would not be a good choice. Add the artichoke next, using a bamboo skewer inserted into the stem, and a couple of flowers for color. The eucalyptus seeds and solidaster offer texture, and rhythm is achieved with the bundle of twigs placed horizontally across the back. Picture this on a mantle, end table or any spot that needs a little dressing up.
